title: Organization date: 2026-10-02 00:00 tags: now --- I haven't invested enough in organizing my stuff one year into my new apartment. The three main areas are: supplies, physical media, and clothes. After seeing Neighbor Dave deftly navigate his garage for block party gear, and my own panicked search for bandages, it is time for a reset. I want to know where everything I have is right away. We've amassed a decent collection of physical media. I need a way when I'm out to check if we already have a CD or a DVD. My ISBN-scanning utility will probably get extended past books into other media. Then, I can create a website to check my library on-the-go. The closets in my apartment are particularly cramped and dark. Our small bedroom leaves no room for a dresser. What doesn't fit on the rack becomes a messy pile, ruining my sanity. This problem has to be attacked from multiple sides—new furniture, seasonal rotation schedules, getting rid of clothes—anything is on the table. I'm most reluctant to tackle it, but it's the most important.
