title: Exploring Emacs
date: 2026-09-25 00:00
tags: now
---
While I have used Neovim for ~6 years, I started to get curious about Emacs over the summer.
Experimenting with CHICKEN and GUILE Scheme, I had an itch to use more Lisp and Emacs is a great platform for that.

Working with tmux never clicked with me.
A skill issue, but the arcane tmux commands left me convinced I was better off never learning them.

Meanwhile, Emacs has been very intuitive for my workflows.
My only gripes have been instability on Wayland and the virtual terminal.

Because LLMs have lowered the up-front cost of customizing Neovim and Emacs, I feel better about switching between them rather than having to pick one.

Otherwise, I'm excited to check out [Superlogical](https://www.superlogical.com/) when it drops, so the experiment may be short-lived.
