-I've been running a FreeBSD VPS.
-It's hosting this website right now.
-
-Overall it's been a delight.
-The OS is super intuitive.
-Docker got tiring and I wanted a fresh challenge.
-It also gives me new appreciation for NixOS.
-
-I've only scratched the surface.
-I'd highly encourage anyone to experiment with BSD for servers. \ No newline at end of file

+title: Exploring Emacs
+date: 2026-09-25 00:00
+tags: now
+---
+While I have used Neovim for ~6 years, I started to get curious about Emacs over the summer.
+Experimenting with CHICKEN and GUILE Scheme, I had an itch to use more Lisp and Emacs is a great platform for that.
+
+Working with tmux never clicked with me.
+A skill issue, but the arcane tmux commands left me convinced I was better off never learning them.
+
+Meanwhile, Emacs has been very intuitive for my workflows.
+My only gripes have been instability on Wayland and the virtual terminal.
+
+Because LLMs have lowered the up-front cost of customizing Neovim and Emacs, I feel better about switching between them rather than having to pick one.
+
+Otherwise, I'm excited to check out [Superlogical](https://www.superlogical.com/) when it drops, so the experiment may be short-lived.

+title: Organization
+date: 2026-10-02 00:00
+tags: now
+---
+I haven't invested enough in organizing my stuff one year into my new apartment.
+The three main areas are: supplies, physical media, and clothes.
+
+After seeing Neighbor Dave deftly navigate his garage for block party gear, and my own panicked search for bandages, it is time for a reset.
+I want to know where everything I have is right away.
+
+We've amassed a decent collection of physical media.
+I need a way when I'm out to check if we already have a CD or a DVD.
+My ISBN-scanning utility will probably get extended past books into other media.
+Then, I can create a website to check my library on-the-go.
+
+The closets in my apartment are particularly cramped and dark.
+Our small bedroom leaves no room for a dresser.
+What doesn't fit on the rack becomes a messy pile, ruining my sanity.
+This problem has to be attacked from multiple sides—new furniture, seasonal rotation schedules, getting rid of clothes—anything is on the table.
+I'm most reluctant to tackle it, but it's the most important.
